Howdy bloggers! :)
Just thought I'd write a blog and give some updates on things happening in my blog world. First off, I wrote a blog awhile back called "The Yellow Rose" and then reposted it again as "In memory of Pop's and Mom". I got alot of great feedback from that story, and did what many of you requested that I should do. I submitted it ~ and was informed that a woman was interested in adding my story to her 3rd book!!! How cool it that? She writes stories on angels, and really enjoyed my story.
She has sent me a release form that I need to sign and have notarized ~ so she can use it. I thought that was really neat. I will still be able to use the story, but will also share it with her to use in her book and radio shows. Her name is Mary Ellen and she has a site at angelscribe.com! I will let you all know if it ever makes it into a book etc...
My oldest son Mitch, who is in the Army, Infantry division, is now stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. He is really enjoying it, but stressing at times also. He was able to meet Dick Cheney and shake his hand (big woop ~ can you tell i'm a Democrat) *hee hee* ~ actually that was really cool. Right now they are still doing alot of training, but he has heard rumors he might go to "the suck" ~ which means Iraq in Army talk. Will keep you updated.
He also experienced his first tornado in life ~ ack! He calls me from his cell, and says, "Wow, Mom you should see the sky, and the rain is going totally sideways". I asked him...where are you? He says, "on the 4th floor". Like geeeezzzz, I said isn't there anyone from Kansas there to tell you boys to get offfffffff the 4th floor!! (damn polock) *hee hee* So he says he has to go. Several minutes later he calls back ~ you can hear sirens and chaos in the background. Mitch says, "guys are running all over the place". I said, shouldn't you be running also?? I pictured this group of new Army guys (he's been in since October) from all over the country ~ not knowing what is happening and just standing there watching! *lol*
Again he says, gotta go. By this time I have the weather channel on, plus the local weather site for Kansas up on my computer ~ and I see alerts all around where he is. Two minutes later the phone rings ~ Mitch is now running, I can hear him breathing deep as he is trying to talk, saying omg you should see this thing. I keep saying..WHAT thing!!! *lol* He says, "Man I wish my cell phone could take pictures"! I'm like ~ will you just please watch where you are running and get to where your supposed to go. They ended up having 3 tornados touch down on base that day. They mostly did damage to cars, roofs, a gate etc, but no injuries. Mitch also got his first tatoo, it says ~ Jessica ~ and it is for his little sister who is 19 years younger then him ~ how sweet was that?? I was like, thought you might put one there that says ~ Mom! * hee hee*
We are doing great on the other house, still hoping to get it on the market in the first few weeks of June. We were able to get a good deal on flooring and have two rooms we are laying new carpet, and putting down tile etc in the hall, kitchen and bathroom. I will be doing the easy job of painting!
Little Jessica is growing and talking so much. Can you believe she will be 2 already in June? Don't know where the time has gone. Her favorite thing to do is sing ~ she sings to everything ~ tv shows, video tapes, country and rock music. Her hair is long enough now that I put these cute pigtails in it and she looks so adorable. I still call her "boo" like from Monsters Inc ~ she reminds me of the little girl from there ~ especially with her hair up! Zachary is doing great, he is just about finished with 3rd grade. He's having a growth spurt and is almost getting eye level with me...yikes!! Ok, so i'm only 5'2 on a good day ~ but geez, not liking he's as tall as me already! *hee hee* Patrick's sons are doing wonderful ~ his oldest son Robbie will be graduating from High School ~ June 23rd. I will have a special blog written for that moment ~ for those that don't know, Patrick's sons are both autistic and to graduate from high school is a very major feat and proud moment for us all! I added some new pictures of Jessica taken in her new room, there are in my briefcase!
Okay now that I bored ya to tears, I shall let you go. Hope all is good in your blog worlds. Huggles and God Bless ~
