ஜწ It is that time of the year, when the wind blows cold, the crisp leaves crackle under your feet & family from near and far gather to celebrate the beginning of the Holiday Season. As A child I loved Thanksgiving ~we would start baking days before the "Day of the Big Bird" as my Mom called it. We would take down the "good dishes" and silver to polish/clean them all up. Mom would bake our favorite pies (apple, pumpkin, and pecan) ~ Dad would eat said pies ~ and we would bake new pies ~ happened every year!! *lol*

Why is it that Holiday's seemed so different from when you were a child ~ as a child they seemed to last forever, moving in slow motion, taking in every sight, smell ~ you thought they would never end. It all seems so fast paced and "boxed" now ~ like holidays are bought and not celebrated like days of old. You can now buy (homemade pies) so they say from store bakery's. What about the memories of today's children ~ will they even learn how to make a homemade pie crust, or sit around a table slicing apples and making small talk with their Mum?

Thanksgiving to me means ~ family ♥ a good game of scrabble ♥ laughter ♥ football ♥ pies ♥ shared stories ♥ children playing ♥ Mom yelling ~ "no throwing balls in the house" ♥ Dad snoring on the couch ♥ Lions losing yet AGAIN ♥ cold beer in the snowbanks and road hockey ♥ 500 pairs of shoes in the hall ♥ lines for the bathroom ♥ crisp cold walks down a quiet street ♥ no room in the fridge ♥ leftover sandwiches piled with turkey ~ cranberry sauce ~ stuffing ♥ & Mom taking a well deserved nap on the couch ♥ஜწ

♥§Mom and Pop's you are dearly missed!!§♥
